Gyeongpoho Lake

Gyeongpoho Lake
Gangneung Gyeongpoho Lake

It is also called the gyeongho. The meaning of ‘Gyeongpoho’ is ‘Lake is a Clear as mirror’.

Originally, it was a large lake with a depth of 12 km, but due to the deposit of the current soil, the surrounding area was reduced to 4 km and the depth of the water was reduced to 1 to 2 meters.

Gyeongpodae(pavilion), built on a small hill west of the lake, is famous for being one of the eight scenic views of Gwandong(middle eastern part of Korea), set in Gyeongpo Lake from ancient times.
