In the morning, the clouds covered the sun, so I didn’t see the sunrise. As the day goes by, the clouds clear up and the sky clears.
Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak with various crowns.
It was designated as a natural monument.
It was listed as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage.
It was Certified to UNESCO World Geopark.
The time required is 50 minutes round trip. I’m gonna take an hour to get there.
Now, It’s time to get a ticket and go up there. Turn my ankles, turn my waist and stretch my legs for pre-exercise.
I can see many foreign tourists. 30% of Koreans, 70% of foreigners?
There is also a place to experience horseback riding at the uphill entrance. It will take around 15min? It is quite interesting experience.
It’s nice to see the green grass looking cool, but I can’t help but worry about how hard it would be to take care of it here. Or are the horses eating on their own?
The trail is so well organized that it is not crowded. There’s a way up and down. So You can go as they tell you to go.
Let’s get some water. Especially in hot summer! Get ready and start.
It’s getting steep and out of breath. I pretend to take a break, turn my back, take a picture, and when I get back to breathing, I go up.
What do you think they look like? It looks like a horse’s head or human’s face.
Is it halfway up? Looking back, I can see the whole area at a glance.
It is obscured by clouds, but you can see some Oreum and see the blue sea of Jeju Island.
It’s about 20min to come up here. I finally reached the summit of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak.
The height is approximately 180 meters above sea level. It’s not high, but the slope is steep. Let’s sit down for a while, drink some water, relax.
It’s still morning. The sun’s up in the east. It’s disturbing my eyes. I never tried before to come up here early in the morning to see the sunrise. What would it be?
Someday, i will try to see the sunrise here definitely.
I can’t see the other side well because of the sun, so it keeps seeing on the other side. Of course, it’s beautiful and there’s a lot to see.
It’s amazing how the waves break and the foam they create. I’d like to take a closer look.
If the weather is clear, I think i can see Mt. Halla.
They used to farm here in the crater. When would that be?
Right now, they say it’s a field of silver grass. I haven’t found the picture yet full of silver grass.
I’ve looked around, so I’m going down now. There’s a way down on the other side of the road. Let’s keep an eye on it so you don’t go back the way you came.
The way down isn’t too hard. Instead, be careful not to lose sight to see the scenery. And don’t get in the way with excessive selfie sticks!
Occasionally, there is congestion in the selfie stick use section.
The long selfie stick is blocking the way. Use as quickly as possible!
The color of the sea is mysterious. The combination of blue and light green creates a sense of mystery.
If you follow the directions, you will head west of Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak.
I see the Haenyeo(female diver) house over there. It’s where you can see the haenyeo performance every twice a day.
Seongsan Ilchulbong seen from here gives another impression.
Seongsan Ilchulbong showing different shapes according to directions.
Here at the haenyeo’s house, you can enjoy not only the performances, but also the seafood collected by the haenyeo. Recommended to watch and taste on time. But, i don’t know the price…
It’s called Udo because it looks like a cow lying down. You can’t see it from here. It looks more like a snake here.
Whenever I see the sea of Jeju Island, I always feel like to go jumping in. The sea looks clean enough to drink.
From the west, Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak is a cliff. It’s like finely carved with a carving knife.
I came back to the entrance I had left about an hour ago. Is it too short? Should i went to a cafe and had drinks and seafood at the haenyeo’s house?
The fact that I didn’t see the sunrise is all that’s more regrettable.
Should i see the sunset? But there’s too much time left.
I have a reason to come again this winter.
You will find Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, which looks like an island standing alone in the middle of the sea. To add to that, Seongsan Ilchulbong was originally an island.
Let’s move to the next stop!
