The next place I visited on Jeju Island is the Bonte Museum. Ando Tadao’s philosophy of architecture can be found here again.
Another Architecture of Ando Tadao
This place is simple and harmonized with nature using exposed concrete. It consists of 4 buildings. Each hall has its own theme.

I visited the Museum SAN before and experienced the greatness of Ando Tadao, and here again I see the greatness and genius.
Neat and clean view. I naturally walk lightly and easily without knowing. I think I have to do that somehow. Listening to the sounds of nature.
The Bonte museum here is a mixture of Korean beauty unlike the Museum SAN. A meeting between a stone wall with tiles and exposed concrete. It is not awkward at all and is merged into one.
A structure that causes some illusions. Illusion caused by structure reflected in water.
A regular stone wall and a tile sitting on it. The sight of it makes me feel refreshed.
You can see Sanbang mountains far from here in the Bonte museum. It’s pretty far on the map, but it feels relatively close here.
The room was not allowed to take a picture, so i only take the exterior. The interior is as good as the clean and stylish exterior.
I can’t show you that. See for yourself.
The theme of hall 1 is Korean Traditional Crafts. Check out the various specialty artifacts!
There is a big pond waiting for you to come out of the first hall. Two ducks glide across the pond.
A shy-looking water lily.
I was confused because I didn’t know the difference between the water lilies and the lotus flowers. I think I know now.
Water lilie’s leaves are floating on the water. The lotus leaves are above the surface of the water and are larger than the water lilies.
Can be distinguished by leaf difference! There are other differences, but let’s simply separate them into leaves.
My dream before I die is to build my house with my own hands. At that time, I will make it based on Tadao Ando’s architecture. Of course, in part allowed.
I stand beside the falling water to avoid the heat for a while.
That cool me down a little.
Now finish Section 1 and move on to the next hall. The second section is immediately attached to the first section. But no indoor shooting, either.
The second section can get information on modern art works and information about Mr. Ando Tadao. In addition, the still cut about the Bonte museum is also a sight to see.
Hall 3 is a place where you can see the permanent exhibition of Yayoi Kusama. Currently, Hall 3 is under expansion. However, permanent exhibition can be viewed underground.
And we went to Hall 4 before we visited Hall 1 and Hall 2 and it is a place where you can access Korean traditional customs. I can feel the beauty of the Bonte museum with two sections, from a very personal point of view.
Museum SAN in Oak Valley.
The Bonte Museum in Jeju Island.
If you can visit both of these places, you’ll be a Ando Tadao fan.
I’m already his fan.
