Origin of Nami Island
The name Nami Island, also known as Namseom meaning “front island,” was naturally established due to the folklore that General Nami was buried in a pile of stones on the northern hill of Nami Island.
Nami Island, a small island floating in the shape of a half moon on the Bukhangang River.
Although it is small enough to be seen in just three or four hours, the number of visitors to the area is enormous.
Last year alone, 2.67 million people visited, of which 670,000 were foreign tourists. There are quite a lot of visitors on weekdays as well as weekends.
The line waiting to board a ship is long enough to scare people.
However, the waiting time is not long because the ship is coming and going without a break.
In addition, there are many quiet places in every corner, so you can enjoy a much more leisurely space than you were scared of.
Riding a boat is the most common, but if you want adventure, try the thrilling zip wire.
Glamorous garden: Spring
A green spring. The canals, azaleas and lilies form a colorful path, and the cherry blossoms in full bloom cover the sky. Nami Island in spring is the most spectacular garden in the world.
Cool shade: Summer
Summer with thick shade of trees from the northern dock to the end of southern. When the cool river winds blow under the shade of the forest, there is no summer like this in the world.
The Way to Walk: Fall
Autumn is when maples color the whole island beautifully. Nami Island doesn’t clean up fallen leaves. The fallen leaves trail, which is buried up to the ankles, presents a special memory.
Silent Snow Field: Winter
The sound of snow stepping, the sound of the wind, the calm winter. Icicles hang all over the island. Make your own snowman on the white tree-lined street.
