It is Korea’s first eco-renewable ecological park that opened after minimal renovation of the past Seonyu purification plant building to share with nature.
Seonyudo, a small island on the Han River where god enjoyed their fun with its small hill called Seonyubong, has now become a unique Seoul landmark.
Walk along the trail for about 10 minutes at the Yanghwa district of Hanriver Park to meet Seonyudo.
The first sculpture to greet is Sunyugyo Bridge, a 700-meter-long rainbow bridge.
It is a walking bridge made only of wood and was built in a joint construction project with France to connect the riverside of the Han River and the park.
The inside of the 11-ha park is largely divided into a walking path and a garden space.
The trail that follows around Seonyudo Island is a quiet road where quite thick trees create shade.
It is an exotic place to see the Han River from inside the Han River. It is more beautiful in the evening when you can see the night view of Seoul.
The garden space is the central part of the Seonyudo Park, where “Time Garden” and “Water Botanic Garden” are located around the Han River History Hall.
The History Hall, where vines grow along concrete pillars in the old water purification plant structure make green columns, can find the ecology of the Han River, cultural relics, and the management history of Han River using the circulating pump building.
The Time Garden, which has saved the outer walls of the settling reservoir building, has a beautiful view of plants growing the rough artificial outer walls, making everyone feel like taking pictures.
If you want to learn more about the nature of Seonyudo Park, such as the Aquatic Botanical Garden, where waterfront plants grow, use a weekend-long information program.
