In Jeju dialect, “seopji” meaning “narrow land” and “Koji” meaning “promontory” were combined to make the name “seopjikoji”

First, near the lighthouse of the volcanic pine tree hill, you can see the beacon that heralded the invasion of the Japanese during the Joseon Dynasty. 

The four-meter-tall, nine-meter-long beacon is preserved close to its origin shape.

From a scientific point of view, it is also a great place for natural learning to observe the center of the crater where magma was ejected during a volcanic eruption. 

You can indirectly imagine the formation of land in the event of a volcanic eruption by observing scoria and volcanic neck.
