The Seoul Museum of Art is making its way into a world-class museum of art, aiming for “A Future Made by Many, A Museum Connecting Everybody ”
The Seoul Museum of Art is located along the stone wall road of Deoksugung Palace in the middle of downtown Seoul.
In the 1920s, the former Supreme Court building, which was built in architectural style, was constructed with only the facade(front surface wall) intact.

The Seoul Museum of Art was established for the purpose of systematically collecting and preserving art works, informing the public art through various planning exhibitions, and contributing to the development of art culture by running various education courses.
In addition, it is conducting research for the development of modern art, and various publishing activities and writing staff programs.
In addition to the main building, the Seoul Museum of Art runs the “South Seoul branch” located in Sadang-dong and the “Gyeonghui Palace branch” which focuses on rental venue, and runs Nanji Creative Studio as a writer’s residency program.

On the first, second and third floors of the museum’s main building, there are a total of six exhibition rooms, one of which is a permanent exhibition hall.
Underground is a lecture hall and seminar room for educational programs.
In addition, the museum has a archives of materials from each art field.
Convenience facilities such as Museum Shop and Cafeteria, which sell art products, are also operating.

The Seoul Museum of Art has supported rising artists since 2006.
It has selected domestic and foreign rising artists under the age of 40 to provide private studio space in Nanji Art Creation Studio.
