Udo was called Sosum or Shasum early on because it resembles a cow lying down. 

It is a tourist destination with natural conditions of heaven, including gentle slope, jade soil, rich fishing grounds and Udopalkyung(8-Scenic View), and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Jeju island, which about 2 million tourists visit each year. 

It takes about 15 minutes to get to Udo Island from Sungsan Port and Jongdal Port.

The island is 3.8 kilometers long and 17 kilometers around. It takes three to four hours if you walk nonstop, but most tourists travel to the famous tourist spots by bus, bicycle or mini electric vehicles. 

Rhodolith beaches, and beaches or udobong, geommeolle beach and hagosudong beach are famous tourist attractions, such as beach, cafes and restaurants can enjoy rest in about three and a tour hours.

If you want to relax and enjoy Udo Island, you can also take a morning boat to go in, take an afternoon boat to come out, and stay in Udo Island all day. 

However, the weather conditions must be checked in order to schedule a trip to the Udo Island, as it may vary depending on the weather.

Tourists who visit Udo Island usually visit ‘Hongjo Danso Beach’, ‘Udo Peak’ and ‘Gomulle Beach’

It was also called the Coral Sea, but it was discovered that the white sand beach was formed when the red algae, rather than the coral, broke down like a grain, and so the red sand beaches made of red algae are rare in the world. 

There is also hagosudong beach famous for the color of an open beach and beautiful ocean.

There is a gentle course in Cheonjin-dong and a scenic Gummulle coastal course, and you can climb Udo Peak and look at the panoramic view of Udo. 

In addition to the scenic beauty, sea fishing, bike hiking, and submarines and cruise ships add to the fun of the trip.
